RE: RiVOA Theme v.85 Updated 8/30/24

To get the most out of this theme I recommend installing the following Add-ons. SWS Reaper Extension If you haven't installed the SWS extensions, then why not? They provide additional functionality to Reaper and this theme takes advantage of that additional functionality. Download and install SWS Extensions v2.14.1 or above from here: Toolbars If you're new to Reaper and haven't configured your own customized toolbars, you will likely find installing these toolbars to be helpful in getting the most out of Reaper's capabilities with minimal effort. Installing these toolbars will save you time and effort of having to memorize keyboard short-cuts and going through Reaper's action menu to create your own. I have gone through and already assigned useful and common actions along with their associated toolbar button images. These toolbars will be updated in future releases (ie more MIDI custom toolbars to come). How to Install TOOLBARS 1. Download and save to your PC the Reaper Toolbar Configuration File. Toolbar Configuration File Download Link: 2. Open Reaper and navigate to the top menu OPTIONS>PREFERERNCES>General 3. Click on the "Import configuration" button 4. Browse to where you downloaded and saved the file in step 1 and select Open. 5. Ensure Menus and toolbars is checked and click the "Import" button. *Note this will import and overwrite the Filename "reaper-menu.ini" into your Reaper installation folder. If you have previously configured custom toolbars, then it is recommended you export and back them up prior if you decide you want to restore them. The Default toolbars can always be restored without prior backup. 6. Restart Reaper 7. After restart, if you haven't done so already I would suggest right clicking in the newly added Main toolbar and selecting POSITION TOOLBAR> and selecting "AT TOP OF MAIN WINDOW". Toolbars Overview Main Toolbar Dock this one at the top for quick access to commonly used project tools MIDI Timeline Record/Sequencing Toolbar Dock this one at the top for quick access to commonly used project tools when focusing on MIDI recording on the timeline MIDI Editor Main Toolbar Main Toolbar when working in the Midi Editor Toolbar Toggle Launcher A Toolbar to easily toggle all your other toolbars on and off Toggle Window Views Toolbar You ever lose your transport and wonder where it went? Do you need to get some windows out of your way to make more screen space for other sections? Would you like to do some surgical spectral editing on those tracks? This toolbar allows you to quickly turn on and off the different windows and tabs in Reaper with a single click of a button. Media Item Editing Unlock your editing superiority with these simple, yet powerful editing tools. Timeline and Region Editing Toolbar Improve your workflow by manipulating Regions and timeline sections of your project with this toolbar Media Explorer Toolbar Get more from and speed up your workflow in the Media explorer with this toolbar Tool Selection Mouse Modifier Toolbar Unfamiliar with Reaper's ALT+SHIFT+CTRL mouse modifiers and having troubles remembering all those keyboard short-cuts? Use this toolbar to quickly change the default behavior of your mouse's left click drag functionality or just check on the status if things don't seem to be working as expected. Expanded Transport Toolbar The default Transport not giving you enough at your finger tips to quickly maneuver around your project? Start flying around your timeline with this expanded functionality Transport toolbar. Track Panel Controls Toolbar Quickly manipulate your track controls with this toolbar Automation and Envelope Editing Toolbar Unlock Reaper's Automation recording, playback and envelope editing tools with this toolbar Automation Recording and Playback Toolbar Want to simply record and playback automation? This is an Automation Toolbar that focuses on the nuts and bolts to get you on your way to automating like a Pro. Theme Adjustments Toolbar This toolbar provides quick access to making theming selection and tweaks. The MEGA Toolbar Use to create your own custom toolbars by right clicking on the action and copy/paste simple steps to create your own custom toolbars. As actions continue to be mapped to buttons, this will continue to grow. This is your one-stop shop to audition many of Reaper's functions all in one place. <Contextual Toolbars> Media Item Switches and Channel adjustment Toolbar You want just the LEFT side of that Stereo track? How about mixing it down to mono? How about reversing the playback, or normalizing the gain? Got an external audio editor you want to open it in? Select your media item and it can all be done with a single click of a button with this toolbar. Track Freeze and Render Toolbar Want to create track stems? Freeze a Midi track to Audio? Heavy CPU and RAM Plugins weighing you down? Free up those system resources with this Toolbar. Item Group and Takes Toolbar Use this Toolbar to edit, audition and manage takes like a pro and group/ungroup them together so they move together. Toolbar Use Demos! See them in action! Timeline and Region Editing Toolbar Demo Contextual Toolbars The following toolbars are intended to be used as "Contextual Toolbars". Contextual Toolbars will pop up when selecting specific items within Reaper and require SWS Extensions to be installed. To setup Contextual Toolbars, see YT video below. Cursors Pack Some of Reaper's default cursors looked quite long in the tooth and were difficult to see in some instances, where I have updated the ones which looked like they belonged back on my Atari 2600 game console. Download Link: Revised Cursors Overview How to Install CURSORS 1. Download and save to your PC the file: RiVOA_Cursors_v1.0.ReaperConfigZip 2. Open Reaper and navigate to the top menu OPTIONS>PREFERERNCES>General 3. Click on the "Import configuration" button 4. Browse to where you downloaded and saved the file in step 1 and select Open. 5.Reaper will prompt for confirmation, click OK 6. Click Import 7. Reaper will restart and new cursors will be loaded. In case you don't like some of the installed cursors and wish to go back to the Reaper defaults, here's how to uninstall them. How to UN-Install CURSORS 1. Locate your Reaper resource folder by going to OPTIONS>SHOW REAPER RESOURCE PATH IN EXPLORER/FINDER 2. Reaper will open a file browser on your machine, browse to the "Cursors" folder. 3. Delete all the *.cur files, and restart Reaper.

I'm glad you brought up the topic of user preference adjustments. Something I haven't mentioned about this theme is that I tried to develop it in a manner that user preference adjustments can easily be made without having a deep understanding of theming or how to write WALTER code. I will provide further instructions in this thread on how to make some of those preference adjustments in future posts. Things that will be supported with some simple user adjustments. - Font types (still under development) - Font Colors and their backgrounds - Color adjustments to TCP, MCP, Transport, etc (ie light, dark, medium color modes) - Color adjustments to Arrange view items
