Ever since ive owned my 2.0 '97 440 GLT its had wet carpets mainly passenger front but all are damp/wet. This WAS due to a leaking heater matrix which has now been replaced for some months. Its wet now and ive lifted the carpet and sound insulation and found its soaking wet in the passenger side foot well and has a puddle! There is a small hole near some cables which is not plugged. I poked a long pit rolled up paper through and looked under the car but could not see it coming through. Just wondering if anyone has the same thing? Its not the heater matrix and the seals around the doors/windows all seem spot on... idea's? Should I bung the hole?
Pull back the carpets and dry the area around the hole. Apply some talc around the area then take it for a drive through puddles. If water is entering through the hole you will see it in the talc.

I had water in my 460, 95' once when it was new. The problem was a blocked water drain pipe of the aircon. It is a rubber "L" shaped pipe with sides of about 5 cm, located in the engine compartment, mounted in the middle of the cabine wall. It is easy to pull it out and clean it. But I was also hearing the vent splashing water. Just check it.

Thanks for the help guys. Where exactly is this L shaped rubber hose? I think I may have seen one near where the coolant pipes pass through the bulk head into the heater matrix? Is there another one? Does anyone has a good diagram of where the drain holes are so I can check them all and clear them?
Sorry, but I dont have any photos (no mobile phone nor a digital camera). This piece of rubber is about 1/2 inch and yes, it is close to the coolant pipes.
I think this was the much sought after Volvo optional extra external storage cabin. Basically any little sweety wrappers you no longer want, you put through the cabin hole and they are then stored externally thus preventing cluttering of the inside of your car! Good find!
